Hey, Neil. Blast from the past, Mike George here. Stumbled (not literally) on your blog last week and have enjoyed reading through them. The picture of you in front of Cafe Amsterdam brought to mind a place I went in DC, the Brickskeller which had over 1000 beers, Almost all bottles which was a bit unfortunate. It’s no longer in business. Hope you and fam are well.
Hey Mike – great to hear from you. Yeah, I’ve been working on the brewing industry since 2013. It is am interesting industry to study. I have heard of the Brickseller, but never been there. Guess I will not be visiting now. Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch. My email is neil.reid@uyoledo.edu. Neil
Hi, Neil – Tom Moore from ASU Geography days here. Living almost 20 years in the “Napa Valley” of craft beer, Fort Collins (although we think Sonoma is the “Fort Collins” of CA wine). Lots of great beer in many places. Be great to connect with you on a research trip here, maybe we can get (the retired) Mike George to come here from NE and join us.
Hi Tom – great to hear from you. Fort Collins is a great craft beer town. Would love to get together if I am in the Fort Collins area. And if we could drag Mike George along, even better. COVID-19 curtailed my travels but hope to get back on the road sooner rather than later.
ok, let’s get a visit to Fort Collins planned. Could you speak to our Mug Club?
John and Charlie Hoxmeier, owners of the Gilded Goat and both professors at CSU.
Hi John:
I’d be delighted to speak to your Mug Club. The best way to connect with me is by e-mail – neil.reid@utoledo.edu
I look forward to hearing from you.
Neil
Just noticed the reference to FC… where my boyfriend lives. Let me know when you organize this and would love to crash your beer and geography party! 🙂
